First Annual MI Ride for Red
Bike trip from Kalamazoo to South Haven

Wow! What a success! July 23rd, 2006 was the date of our 1st Annual MI Ride For Red. Thanks to our Donors, Support Staff, and Businesses that supported us, every aspect of this event went very smoothly. Secure Start Inspections spent a good deal of time researching and planning all the details to ensure everything stayed on track and it was well worth it!

We had a great turnout of 14 riders that day. Everyone completed the ride and we only had 1 flat tire a mile from the finish line - Go Ray! Speeds averaged from "Team Hostetler" at 18 mph to "Turtle Bunch" at 12.5 mph.

We ended at Packard Park in South Haven where our support staff was set up with all the picnic fixins'. Dan Morris and his students did a wonderful job at the massage tent and Keith Little got all our bikes safely back to Kalamazoo.

To top off this fun event, we raised $1,272.00 for our local Red Cross Chapter! Awesome job riders!

What about next year? You bet! Mark your calendar for Sunday, July 22, 2007. Our goal will be to double the numbers!
